Handwritten in black ink on rear of postcard - “Dear Olive / This is a photo / of two of my mates. The / one standing is William / Shade, the other chap / sitting down is Fred / Scott, he is no relation / of mine. They are both / W.A. lads Shade is in / the same as myself & / Fred is in the 3rd Rein / of the 28th Battalion. / He has not been over / to the front yet so he / has something to go / through. Good bye / I am / your loving / Sweetheart / George SCOTT” with “George of right” written in red ink at bottom.
