c. 1915Black and white photographic postcard of Ernest James DAVIES in civilian clothing very neatly groomed and with an “Endeavour Within Christianity” pin in his lapel. Printed on the back in postcard format with a handwritten signature.
Ernest James DAVIES enlisted in the A.I.F. in 1914 embarking in Queensland then leaving Albany as part of the First Convoy. Wounded at Gallipoli he was sent to recover in England and served out the rest of the war performing clerical duties with various departments. In 1921 he was awarded an M.B.E. for his dedication to war service as a civilian. He was also a member of the “Christian Endeavour Society”
