Cordless Telephone

Cordless Telephone (c. 1980s)
Cordless phones transformed the functionality of the telephone. By using radio waves to send signals from the portable handset to the base set, there was no longer any need for fixed lines. This enabled the user to walk around and chat at the same time, although the handset required regular charging and could not be used during a power outage. Phone reception was also only available within a limited area from the base set. Later models featured caller identification and voice recording capabilities.
