Motorola Bag Phone

Historical information

Motorola Bag Phone (1988 – 2000)
A portable phone which could be powered by a battery pack or by the vehicle’s power system (lighter socket). It featured a digital numeric keypad, a loudspeaker for the ringer, “rubber duck” antenna and hands-free option. The battery life was up to 2.5 hours of talk time and 48 hours of standby time. As the size and weight of the phone and battery pack reduced, more fashionable and lighter bags were introduced to carry them. This made them very marketable for the early mobile phone user.
