Henry Thomas Buckland was born in 1863 . Buckland had wanted to be an organ maker when he was growing up in England, however his parents couldn't afford it, so he came out to Australia and became an engineer.
Buckland married Phoebe Minor in Albany in 1891 and had children Eileen Grace, Ellen Phoebe, Ann Elizabeth and Henry George. He worked and lived at the Osborne Electric Light Station and Waterworks in Osborne Parade eventually becoming manager.
The family lived in Claremont Avenue in 1902 and then moved to 1 Queen Street where they lived from 1903 - 1933. Phoebe died in 1935 and Henry in 1933.
