1916French official document, “CERTIFICAT DE NATIONALITE”, issued to Raymond Parker WARBURTON on the 30/11/1916. The document is cream in colour and at top left has a small black and white portrait photograph of Raymond, affixed by 4 metal pins, with the stamp of the “British Consulate Bordeaux “, across photograph. On top right “CONSULAT BRITANNIQUE / BORDEAUX”. At the bottom of document is a handwritten signature atop the words, “Le Consul de S.M. Britannique, and below a green postage stamp and the ‘British Consulate Bordeaux’ stamp over top.

The document is printed in French, with the heading, “CERTIFICAT DE NATIONALITE”. Details have been completed in black ink and handwritten in English. On the rear is a round purple stamp, “Commissariat Special De Bordeaux Service Du Port” and written in pencil in centre “19 December / 1916”. First paragraph, “Je soussigne certifie que d'apres les documents qui m'ont ete presentes le nomm” and handwritten in black ink, “Raymond Parker Warburton”.
Amongst the items of this collection is a Certificate of French Nationality issued to Raymond Parker WARBURTON, listing his parents as George Elliot WARBURTON and mother, Annie WARBURTON. Document was dated the 30/11/1916 and states that Raymond is a British subject born in “Sydney (Australia)”.
At this time Raymond was employed as an Electrical Engineer on board the HMAT A4 Pera, a transport ship owned by P&O London, which was leased by the Commonwealth during the First World War. Raymond was employed on 1/12/1915 in London and was discharged on the 09/09/1917.
