HARNESS; BREASTPLATE
Leather collar with hand forged hooks for traces. Single neck strap with rein rings and buckles on both sides. The neckpiece and collar are padded with yellow felt.
It was important that traditional collars fitted the horse well or else it would get friction sores. It would be like walking in shoes that don't quite fit you. The breast collar solves this fitting problem and was widely used by the Army in World War 1. The flexibility allowed it to fit many different shaped horses. This one has hand-forged trace hooks and is lined with yellow felt.
