Ceramic Sugar Basin - Hanley
c. 1920The sugar basin has a round royal blue glazed base with 3 small feet. Above this is a ceramic cylindrical section that slopes inwards towards the top and features a painted oriental scene of people carrying lanterns. Above this is an Electroplated Nickel Silver (EPNS) ring that encircles the ceramic body and supports a flat EPNS lid with a hole for a spoon and a smooth rounded knob. A rounded EPNS handle attaches to the body of the basin via the EPNS rim. Whilst the lid has a hole for a sugar spoon the spoon is missing.
