WWI ARCS (SA Division) Red Cross Rest Room invitation
1915Australian Red Cross Society (South Australian Division) invitation to invalided soldiers to visit the Red Cross Rest Room, situated in Queen's Hall, Grenfell Street, Adelaide.
The invitation is printed onto a cream coloured, rectangular card with blue writing and a Red Cross symbol in the upper centre.
Information about the opening hours of the Rest Room are shown.
A facsimile signature of the President of the ARCS (SA Division), Marie Carola Galway is printed along the bottom of the card.
The reverse of the card is plain.
Marie Carola Franciska Roselyne Galway (1876-1963), was a British charity and civic worker. During the World War One period, she was the South Australian Governor's wife, and in this capacity became the President of the South Australian Division of the Australian Red Cross Society.
The provision of rest rooms for invalided soldiers was one of many services offered by the Australian Red Cross Society during and after World War One.
