Overview

The attachment to this item is the 2021 to 2042 Lease Rental agreement for Reserve 28600, the land on which the MGGC golf course and clubhouse are located.

The agreement is between the MGGC and the City of Melville, in which the land is vested from the State of Western Australia.

This lease was negotiated seven years before the expiry of the previous lease. The reason for this is that the club had plans for several major projects in the following years including a complete irrigation system and greens replacement program, and proposed clubhouse alterations. As such, the club was ensuring that the investments were supported by an extended lease to justify these investments.

The agreement specifies the annual rent as “$25,815 excluding GST … reviewed and set by Council each year”.

The lease document is 25 pages in length.
