The Forts Visitor Book
1989Brown leather bound visitors book presented by the Honourable John Caldwell MLC on the occasion of the unveiling of the Royal Coat of Arms at the Princess Royal Fortress. The dedication on the inside cover of the book bears the signature of Professor Gordon Reid (Governor of Western Australia 1984-1989).
The Visitors Book was presented during Heritage Week to the Town of Albany on 17 April 1989 by John Caldwell (MLC) and accepted by Mayor Annette Knight.

During Heritage Week, the Forts Visitors Book was presented to the Town of Albany by John Caldwell in preparation for Professor Gordon Reid’s visit to the Forts. In his role as the Governor of Western Australia, Reid unveiled the replica Royal Coat of Arms (Queen Victoria) on 19 April 1989. The Coat of Arms was later mounted on the restored Guard House. His signature was the first in the book, which has room for 10,000 signatures (all pages are full).
