This medal was presented to Roland 'Roly Richardson' in 1995 who was a . The case was made by Jim Hobbs-Turner who owned Valley Furniture.
The medal was struck to commemorate the official opening of the office of the South East Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce on 7 October 1995, which the Armadale and Districts Chamber of Commerce was a part off. The medal also commemorates the 21st birthday of the Armadale and Districts Chamber of Commerce which was founded in 1974 following a meeting on 14 March 1973 where a steering committee was formed to create the organisation. In the first year 20 businesses joined the organisation. Today the organisation is known as Business Armadale.

This object is part of a collection that represents the commercial history of the City of Armadale. It represents the many different businesses that have operated in the local area and how those businesses have evolved over time. Businesses play an important role within a community, they provide wanted and needed goods and services, employment, income and opportunities to the local community. They can also operate as important social connectors, places where people gathered and engaged with other members of the community.
