PHOTO WOOD FRAME

Overview

Wood rectangle frame with curved top. Front has carved floral decoration at top and bottom of frame. Scalloped edging around outside of frame. Indented decoration on inside edge of frame. On back is a indentation on inside edge where glass, photograph and backing fits in place. Black text stamped on back at bottom inside a box [NUMBER / 57 73/6], left [MADE IN THE U.S.A.] and top [PRICE OF FRAME / INCLUDING GLASS AND BACK ONLY / ONE PRICE - Cannot be altered or changed / WORKMANSHIP AND MATERIALS GUARANTEED] and [73/6]. Under this text is the makers mark.
Two eyelet screws, one on each side just above the centre line of the frame. Handing wire attached between the screws.

Historical information

Frames that housed a portrait photograph of Annie Maria Stinton and Harry Howard Stinton. The Stinton family owned a 100acre farm in Karragullen which the Stinton Brook flowed through. The portrait photographs are stored at the Birtwistle Local Studies Library (Annie FF14 and Harry FF15)
