The original operating theatres were mainly converted living rooms and included natural light and wooden beams." para. 2 "In 1948 the hospital rapidly upgraded the area to provide the first air-conditioned operating theatres in WA." para. 3 "8000 Operations are performed each year in the eight Operating Rooms at Mercy Hospital." para. 4 "80 Highly skilled nurses and auxiliary staff are employed in the area and work as part of a team with surgeons and anaesthetists utilising state of the art highly technical equipment."
