Hardback book with tan cover. Title is in black letters "The Spelling Book, Superseded."
The preface advises that "the author has tried to put forward a New and Easy Method of Teaching the Spelling, Meaning, Pronunciation, and Etymology of all the difficult words in the English Language".
Author: Robert Sullivan. Published by Sullivan Brothers, Dublin in 1904.

Historical information

One of the owners of the book (from the inscription) is believed to have been Goldsmid Arthur Whitfield (1893-1986).
