Dicta is Benedicta Etta Victoria Whitfield (also known as Victoria Benedicta Whitfield) who was born 1897. She was was Goldsmid's sister
Nedging was the name of a property in Toodyay.
The convent School in the Toodyay district was run by the Sisters of Mercy. In 1884 three nuns from the Sisters of Mercy religious order arrived in Newcastle (now Toodyay) to establish a school. After operating out of two houses on the main street they had their first two-storey building constructed in 1903, the St Aloysius Convent of Mercy. Residential educational colleges for boys and girls were then built. The school closed in 1972.
