After the first publication by the Toodyay Naturalists' Club in 1979, titled "The Natural History of Toodyay", this second book covered a larger portion of the Avon Valley taking in the districts of Northam and York.
It examined the flora, reptiles, birds and varied landscapes of the hills and along the river Avon.
It included maps, charts, a list of species, locations, reserves and habitats.
