Contextual Information

Baker & Moore started in Murray Street and expanded to larger premises in Dyer Street, West Perth in 1904. It made range of wicker furniture, go-carts and basket-ware, using imported Malacca cane, claiming it to be more resistant to insect attack than willow. Wicker furniture was popular in warm climates due to its airy construction and light padding.
