There is blue felt attached to the underside of the stand.

Historical information

Karragullen Primary School started in 1891 by the Canning Sawmill for the children of its employees. In 1913 the state school was opened at Illawarra Orchard. In 1920 the school was moved to Brookton Highway to be closer to where families were establishing new orchards.

Due to falling student numbers the school was closed at the end of 1999. After the closure children in the area would attend schools in Roleystone.

Stands such as this usually are between two schools that had a connection via a sporting event or some other co-operation. However no Derrymore Primary or High School seems to have existed in 1994. The only Derrymore School found was in Queensland that closed in 1922.
