Overview

oval shaped, a/ is pointed at either end, b & c/ are beveled at one end. Handle is wooden and has a locking mechanism which is interchangeable with the 3 irons, knob on the handle is wooden, painted black but very worn. the wooden part is attached to the cast iron locking mechanism. irons are very pitted and rusted, there's a homemade bolt on to plate of the largest iron.

Historical information

the Mrs Potts irons were invented by Mary Florence Potts (1850 -1922) of Iowa, she patented her first superior iron at age 19. she featured a "cold handle" made of wood that did not heat up, reducing injuries. she marketed her irons in sets, typically featuring 3 irons in a set all interchangeable with the same handle. These irons were owned by Mrs Joyce Bainbridge who lived just west of Ongerup town in the early settlement days of Ongerup 1940's to 70's
