Overview

Black and white photograph of 'Daisy Bell Cottage', Peel Street, Jolimont, with group of family and/or friends. Early 20thC - names not known.
The name of the cottage is painted on a board over the doorway. From left: a man is seated, wearing a bowler hat, and holding a cat; A woman, standing, wearing a white blouse, and a dark skirt; A man, seated on what appears to be a stool, is wearing a hat, white shirt, and vest with a bowtie; A man seated front and centre of the group, is holding a baby; A woman standing at the rear, right side of the group, is seen wearing a collared blouse with large leg of mutton sleeves; A man is seated, wearing a cap, white shirt and vest, with dark trousers and visible pocket watch chain. The house is a very small cottage on newly cleared bare ground, and features an iron roof, tin chimney, a small palm growing by door, and palm fronds decorate the front of the cottage. The house is set in a bushland setting.
