Also attached is a more detailed

Early maps of Kojonup have over 12 small blocks of land on both side of the Kojonup Creek - north and south of the Spring Precinct has the initial ‘P’ before its number. The ’P’ stands for ‘Pensioner’.

Historical information

Enrolled Pensioner Guards first came to Kojonup to replace the British red coat regiments that had been there since 1837. The first Pensioner Guards houses and blocks were being taken up in 1854. One of these houses is still part of the Kojonup Historical buildings - Elverd Cottage in Pensioner road. Remnants of two others are on private land. Elverd cottage is currently undergoing restoration work, but the public may still visit the site and gardens. Entry to the nearby Horse Power and harness Display can be made by contacting the Kodja Place Visitors Centre for a guide and key.
