The Kodja Place Cultural Centre - Kojonup

Our Collections WA site reveals some of the many stories told within the Centre. Interpreting the shared history of Kojonup, the Kodja Place shows what is possible when a community works together. The Centre unpacks ‘multi-cultural points of view about the land, life and history’ in the Kojonup area. All displays follow the 'One Story, Many Voices' guideline - developed at the time of construction in 2002. Inside, the objects represent stories of meaning to the community - such as a school bus, a replica reserve house and a ute. You can view items and read the locals' quotes, listen to audios and watch videos from many of Kojonup’s citizens- Kanaeng Noongars and Non-Indigenous alike. .Outside, walk through the Rose maze following the lives of three women: Yoondi (Noongar), Elizabeth (English) and Maria (Italian) or enjoy the service of The Black Cockatoo cafe or the shop with many local produce.
