About organisation
Our Collections WA site reveals some of the many stories told within the Centre. Interpreting the shared history of Kojonup, the Kodja Place shows what is possible when a community works together. The Centre unpacks ‘multi-cultural points of view about the land, life and history’ in the Kojonup area. All displays follow the 'One Story, Many Voices' guideline - developed at the time of construction in 2002. Inside, the objects represent stories of meaning to the community - such as a school bus, a replica reserve house and a ute. You can view items and read the locals' quotes, listen to audios and watch videos from many of Kojonup’s citizens- Kanaeng Noongars and Non-Indigenous alike. .Outside, walk through the Rose maze following the lives of three women: Yoondi (Noongar), Elizabeth (English) and Maria (Italian) or enjoy the service of The Black Cockatoo cafe or the shop with many local produce. Come and immerse yourself in the experience The Kodja Place Cultural Centre.A great place to stop on the Albany Highway.
