c. 1960
Overview

Flat torpedo shaped metal object, rounded at one end and tapering to a rounded point at the other end. Three quarters of the way down from the tapered rounded point is an indentation in the shape of a half moon.

The majority of the item has a cross-hatched pattern of rises and indentations.

Stamped text reads [TRIPLE / CUT]. Rust and corrosion obscured the text.

Historical information

The Armadale School building was built in 1900 as a resulting need to educate children in the area and a lack of a dedicated school.

The land was donated by the Saw family and built by the education department.

In 1987 the land the school was on was sold to make way for an expansion of Armadale Shopping City. Fearing the loss of local history the community rallied to relocate the school via transport jinker to the Minnawarra Historic Precinct adjacent to the Congregational Church.
