BOTTLE - BOVRIL LTD
c. 1930Brown glass bottle. Bottle has an oval shaped body with a flat base and flat front and back.
On the curved sides is moulded text. At the top of the bottle is a tubular neck with a round opening.
Bovril is a meat extract that is used to make hot flavoured drinks and flavouring for meals such as soup.
The product was originally meant to fill an order of beef for Napoleon the Third in the 1870s. About a decade later the product was commonly sold in the U.K. and to a lesser extent in Australia.
