Electric Iron and Cord

Overview

A chrome plated electrical iron with a black wooden handle. At the back of the iron on the base are two small oval shaped stands. Behind the handle is the electrical plug for the cord. The cord is covered with red material, at one end is a three pin plug and at the other end is a black fan shaped plug with two circular holes.

Inscriptions and markings

At the back of the iron is a plate with the inscription "UNIVERSAL", underneath is "LANDERS, FRARY & CLA?", underneath is "NEW BRITAIN , ? U.S.A.", underneath is "250", "NO. 902 amp 2.", UNDERNEATH "PATENTS PENDING".

On each side of the plug which goes into the iron on a metal plate is "HECLA ", underneath is "7.5 AMPS", underneath is "PAT NO. 1948-39", underneath is "CAT No. A.C.I". On the top of the plastic plug which goes into a wall socket , at the top is stamped "RING-GRIP", on the left side of the cord is "10 AMP", on the right side of the cord is "250 V", underneath the cord is "MADE IN AUSTRALIA"
