On the back of the photograph handwritten in black ink in a vertical line is "J.C Warren R. Warren W S Douglas C Douglas Crommelin Mason. Surveyor J. Tonkin Land official." Handwritten in pencil is "Crommelin, A, Mason Joe Tonkin of Land Office".

On the back of the photograph stamped in purple lettering is "W.A. HISTORICAL SOCIETY KATANNING BRANCH".16.4
