Katanning Flour Mill Silos

c. 1979
Subcollections
Overview

A coloured photo of four silo's and buildings either side of the silo's. There are trees planted on the pavement.

Historical information

On the right of the silos are the gates to the Katanning Flour Mill, the next building is the Police and Citizen's Hall. The silos were a part of the Katanning Flour Mill storage and when first erected the frame on the top held lights that read F and C Piesse. It is reported that these could be seen many miles from Katanning. It is not known when these lights were removed, it may have been at the start of World War Two. The Silos were moved to the Creek Street site in 1979 and in 2002 were not reassembled and not in use. They were a well known land mark of Katanning.
