PHOTOGRAPH: GROUP OF PEOPLE AT A WEDDING, CIRCA 1914

c. 1914
Overview

Black and white copy of a photograph of a group of eleven people at a wedding. The married couple are standing in the centre of the group. The bride wearing a white wedding dress and veil, and holding a bouquet of flowers, and the groom dressed in a dark suit and top hat with flowers pinned to the lapel of his jacket. Three men dressed in suits and hats stand in the back row, and there are two young bridesmaids dressed in white standing on either side of the married couple holding bouquets. On the left and right sides of the group are two older women dressed in dark coloured dresses and hats, and at the front of the group are two young flower girls wearing white dresses and large, broad-brimmed bonnets.

Historical information

The original large photographs were found in the loft of a house in Subiaco that used to be a photographic studio. Attempts were made to identify the photographer and subjects without success. Perhaps the photos were never collected by the subjects. Uniforms are 1914, so probable that rest of photographs of this era. All copy photographs show bad condition of original, marks, edges missing.
