A four point brass star medal with a crown at the top point. Connecting all bases of the four points is a wreath, and underneath the wreath are two crossed swords and a scroll across the centre of the two swords. The medal is stuck on a piece of red, white and blue ribbon.
The 1914-15 Star was authorised in 1918 and was awarded for service in specified theatres of war between 5 August 1914 and 31 December 1915. The medal was awarded to Clarence Gilbert Bennett, service number 1586.
The inscription across the two swords is "1914-15". At the bottom point is a a "V" within a "G".
Engraved on the back of the medal is "1586 PTE. C.G. BENNETT 16 BN. A.I.F."
This item is significant as it shows a piece of farm machinery which used gas producers.
