A silver medallion with the profile of King George V and Queen Mary facing left and on the reverse is a swan. The medallion is hung from a medal bar which has a red, white and blue ribbon.

Inscriptions and markings

On the front of the medal is inscribed "KING GEORGE V QUEEN MARY' and below the busts is "STOKES"

On the back of the medal around the outer edge is inscribed "COMMEMORATE THEIR MAJESTIES CORONATION - JUNE 22 1911" and in the inner edge is "WESTERN AUSTRALIA".

The inscription on the medal bar is "FEAR GOD AND" at the top and "HONOR THE KING" at the bottom.
