Historical information

Record of activity of policemen based at the police station thought to still be in old Toodyay (to be confirmed).
From 2 April 1860, the Police Stables seem to be located at the Toodyay Convict Hiring Depot which was located in the township of Newcastle (proclaimed in 1860), about 5km upriver.
In 1910, Newcastle changed its name to Toodyay and the original township of Toodyay was renamed West Toodyay.
