Historical information

Major Logue (1826-1900) was the son of Joseph Keys Logue. He arrived with his parents on the "Hero" on 28/08/1837. He came to the Victoria District with Thomas Brown and other pastoralists in late 1849, eventually taking up a pastoral property on the Greenough River which he named "Ellendale." He married Lucy Ellen Shaw at Middle Swan on 03/04/1856. The couple had 9 children. As well as a pastoral run, Logue also established a citrus orchard and a vineyard. In 1870 he was elected the first member for Geraldton.
Scott & Gale, Gray and Crowther were the major store owners in Geraldton.
