Approximately fifteen pairs of donkeys harnessed to a wagon pull a large metal cylinder marked 'Hoskins & Co. Ltd Makers Perth' over stony ground. Five men look on.
Mining equipment was often carted using donkeys to remote mining communities. Once the destination was reached the donkeys were then enrolled in mining duties, carting ore from the underground workings to the mill for processing.
