The Australian Army Service Corps (AASC) was formed on 1 July 1903, after the Federation of Australia. It was responsible for the procurement, storage and distribution of military consumables including food and petrol, excluding ammunition. As well as being the Army’s 'truckies', they also moved troops and delivered mail.
