DRESS: CHILDRENS, WHITE COTTON BRODERIE ANGLAISE WITH PINK RIBBON TRIM

Subcollections
Overview

White or ivory-coloured infant's dress with a fitted, embroidered bodice, long sleeves and a full, gathered skirt. The garment appears to be made from cotton, decorated with whitework embroidery, broderie anglaise, lace and light pink ribbon.

The bodice features a rounded neckline with a gathered lace collar, finished with narrow white ties at the centre front. The bodice is decorated with small embroidered floral motifs and groups of circular eyelets arranged in repeating patterns. A narrow horizontal band of white embroidered insertion runs across the waist, threaded with pale pink ribbon. A pale pink ribbon bow ties the waist on the left.

The long sleeves have a floral broderie anglaise pattern.. The cuffs are finished with banding similar to the waist, threaded with pale pink ribbon and a wide, scalloped broderie anglaise edging. Pale pink ribbon ties are attached at the cuffs. The back has two mother of pearl buttons.

The full skirt is gathered into the waist. Small white embroidered floral motifs are scattered across the fabric from the lower mid section. The broderie anglaise embroidery extends around the lower skirt, featuring repeating floral sprays, circular eyelets and looping patterns. The skirt is finished with a large under turned hem.

Dress is handmade.
