Legacy Centenary Torch
2023The torch has a polished aluminium body with a navy-blue leather grip. Three sections of aluminium; the burner on top of the torch, the ring above and knob on the bottom of the torch’s grip, have been gold-plated along with the featured Legacy logo located on the on the body of the torch. Additional text is placed underneath the logo on the torch’s aluminium body.
The Legacy Centenary Torch Relay 2023, presented by Defence Health, was started on 23 April 2023 in Pozières, France and later to London where the only Legacy Club outside of Australia is located. It arrived in Albany on 3 May to commence its Australian leg. Hon. Kim Beazley AC, WA Governor, was the first of 23 torch bearers who carried the flame from Ellen Cove, Binalup/Middleton Beach to the Convoy Lookout on the summit of Irreup/Mt Adelaide.
The Legacy Centenary Torch Relay 2023 travelled 50,000kms around Australia and visited all 44 Legacy Clubs by 1,500 torch bearers. Its six-month campaign was to honour and acknowledge veterans’ families, saluting their sacrifice.
