Son of Thomas John Appleyard, Albert John Appleyard came from Victoria. He served in the 12th and 52nd Battalions during the First World War. Listed ironmonger as his profession. Lived at 9 Albert Street (originally Kingsmill Street) . Married Jessie M. Johns in 1919. He was the father of Jim Appleyard.
