Overview

Black and white photograph of Daglish railway station with a steam locomotive pulling a passenger coach, entering the station from the direction of Perth. Two women and one man can be seen on the station platform. The railway line, a wire fence with roughly cut fence posts, and cleared land with remnant shrubery occupy the foreground of the image. A house in Stubbs Terrace, and two trees are seen in the background.

Historical information

Railway station was built in 1924 on Perth to Fremantle line that was opened in 1881.The station serviced the West Subiaco and Jolimont areas. Originally called Lawler Street railway station. A clipped hedge was grown in the shape of the name, Daglish, by a stationmaster at a later date and became a well known feature of the station surrounds.
