c. 1901Copy of sepia photograph of Subiaco Municipal Chambers and Literary Institute, 1905. Neo-classical building, dark brick with light coloured decorative features. Strictly symmetrical, has four windows with fan lights, and double doors with decorative moulding and fan light window. Door is dark colour. Small notice boards either side of doorway. Wooden lamp post with gas lamp on edge of footpath. Frontage of building is directly onto footpath. Northern side of building has two windows similar to the façade and a small addition to the rear of the building is visible. Large eucalypts are in the background. A picket fence extends from each side of the façade. A street tree with guard is on verge of roadway (Rokeby Road).
