Overview

The original black and white photograph is of the cast of the Voluntary Aid Detachment show 'Mock Wedding', November 1940. In the front row sits the 'bride' and 'groom', with the 'bride's parents', including Miss Thomas as the 'father'. The back row features characters representing the 'best man', 'matron of honour', 'bridesmaid', 'groom's parents', 'grandparents'(?) and 'vicar'. The group is arranged in front of a long white table and a man stands in a doorway at the left-hand side. The names of the women are handwritten on the back. These are: Left to right: Back row: Minna Woods, Mena Snook, Betty Williams, Nancy Williams, Evelyn Galbraith - Dot Galbraith, Molly McIntyre. Front row: Mrs Thomas, Dot Hannigan, Nancy Mercer, Mrs Considine. The VAD group is associated with the WA Red Cross.
