The original black and white photograph was taken out of doors in Rankin Gardens with some detail of the War Memorial in the background at the left. The photograph features five rows of women, all in Voluntary Aid Detachment nursing uniform. The two women kneeling in the front row are holding a floral decoration. The names of the ladies in the photograph are: Standing -- Mrs Weedon, Miss Ferguson, Francis Sweetman, Roma Tremaine, Evelyn Galbraith, Bonny Spencer, Mrs Thomas, Dot Hannigan, Nance Williams, Edna Bone, Marj Mercer, Sylvia Williams.
