1987.137 CAMERA: SIX-20 'BROWNIE' C

Box shaped camera with hinged back which opens for insertion of film. A screw on one side locks film holder in position. The front of camera has one aperture for the lens, and two magnifying lenses for upright or horizontal focusing of camera. Leather strap diagonally on upper surface for carrying. Small knob on one side for shutter operation. Made in USA by Eastman Kodak.

From home of Mrs N.A. Cochrane, 28 Aberdare Road, Shenton Park.

The Brownie was introduced in February of 1900 by George Eastman's company, Eastman Kodak as a low-priced, point-and-shoot, hand-held camera. Kodak heavily marketed the Brownie camera to children.
