KIT BAG; RAAF, LARGE
c. 1941Navy blue RAAF bag with metal eyelets with cotton cord threaded through them as a closing mechanism.
The bag is stenciled with the following: RAAF 406846 GROVES.
Associated with John Groves.
John Arthur Groves enlisted in the RAAF in 1941 as aircrew and was promoted to Sergeant Airman Pilot in January 1942 according to records. Occupation was given as Dairy Farmer.
Subsequently received a commission and ended the war as Flight Lieutenant and discharged 6 February 1946.
He was educated at Guildford Grammar School and was an air cadet whilst there.
