Pre 1914, Military Tailoring and Gold Lacework Display
A collection of Artillery pattern uniforms from 1890 - 1900 displayed to show tailoring and construction detail and the intricate gold lace embellishments used to indicate rank. Elements include a dress tunic, a stable jacket, trousers, cross belt and gloves. The photograph is of Major JC Hawker who commanded the South Australian Permanent Artillery who comprised the initial garrison of the princess Royal Fortress.
