c. 1902A sepia picture of a two storey building with roman arches along the entire ground floor. One end of the building is a semi circle. The picture is taken from the front right hand side of the building, only a side view of the elaborate entrance is visible.
This postcard was in an envelope which was titled "to Mertle (Emily) Greay (nee Lee)" and handwritten in blue ink.

On the front of the postcard in the top left corner in grey typed lettering is "Public Library, Perth W.A.".
On the front of the postcard handwritten around the picture is "This is a fine new building. Up Beaufort St where the WA Gaol used to be. This comes as a Christmas card and very best wishes for you all. N Salter".
On the front of the postcard in the centre is a black stamp with the words "WOODANILLING" and in the centre "DE 12 02".
On the back of the postcard printed in brown lettering is "POST CARD" and underneath this line is "THE ADDRESS TO BE WRITTEN ON THIS SIDE."
On the top right hand side is a black circular stamp with the word "PERTH" at the top and "WA" at the bottom, and in the centre is "8 DE 11 C2". In the top right hand corner is a red stamp which a swan in the centre, at the top of the stamp in red lettering is "WESTERN AUSTRALIA" and at the bottom is "POSTAGE ONE PENNY".
Handwritten in black ink is "Mrs W.G. Greay Grasshill Woodanilling G.S.R."
