GENERAL MEETINGS 1989
1989Three General Meetings were held in 1989.
The proceedings of the Annual General Meeting conducted on 30th March included:
- Receipt of the Treasurer’s report, See the Annual Report 1989 (Item 2021.78) for all the Director’s reports
- The President made a presentation to the retiring Course Superintendent Jack Morley and welcomed his successor, Alan Morley.
- The Director of Course discussed a Parramatta Grass eradication program.
- Various changes to the Constitution, initiated by a motion put by C. B. Wildy were discussed. The changes were partially approved and partially lost.
- A motion put by R. Taylor for a compulsory member expenditure was lost.
- A motion put by R. Taylor which stated in part ‘ … green replacement … be turfed from a nursery …’ was lost.
- Various General Business ensued.
The Special General Meeting on 16th November was called to address motions to amend the Constitution to specify the minimum period for Board meetings, specify the powers of the Board, amend the process for the election of Board members, specify the purposes of the Annual General Meeting and General Meetings.
All motions were ultimately carried, one with an amendment.
The proceedings of the General Meeting on 16th November included:
- The elections for the President, Captain and Director of Finance
- The President outlined the budget proposals for 1990 and noted that the fee increase of 8.5% included insurance cover for all members.
- General Business which included the Chairman explaining that the club would utilise a rubbish disposal service rather than an on-site tip.
