The 1954 Royal Tour of Western Australia was a significant event in the history of the Commonwealth Tour. The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh visited Western Australia after a six-month tour of the United Kingdom, following the Queen's Coronation. The tour was marked by the Queen's first visit to Australia as a reigning monarch and included a journey through various states and territories. The tour was notable for its extensive travel, covering 10,000 miles by air and 2000 miles by road, visiting all capitals except Darwin and 70 country towns. The tour also included a parliamentary reception in Perth's Government House and a service at St George's Cathedral.
