c. 1976A 1976 Western Australian State baseball team cap in the State colours of black and yellow. The cap crown is yellow cotton fabric with a black top button. Embroidered in black thread on the front of the crown are the letters 'WA'. The cap peak is covered in black cotton fabric.
1976 was the 37th Claxton Shield Series, an Australian national competition. It was contested at Norwood Oval in Adelaide, South Australia with the hosts South Australia winning their 14th Shield.

This Western Australian State cap was donated to the Baseball WA Museum & Archives by Don Kyle, who was a member of the 1976 Western Australian Claxton Shield Series team.
An item of historic memorabilia belonging to an elite player, and a significant and admired Western Australian coach and manager. Don Kyle was an inaugural inductee into the Baseball WA Hall of Fame. The item is in good condition and has impeccable provenance.
