TYPEWRITER: REMINGTON UPRIGHT MANUAL
c. 1930Upright Remington manual typewriter, black except for letters. Metal flap at top carries name in faded gold letters. The keys are arranged in a semi-circle in an open well. The roller is turned by means of a bakelite knob on either side. A curved lever moves the carriage at the end of each typed line. Two small flat levers on either side of the carriage allows it to be moved to left or right. The keys, shift keys, and spacer are in the customary positions. The body of the typewriter is not fully enclosed like its more modern counterparts, so that its wires, cogs etc are visible.
